Biography
John embraced nihilism at 15 as the only intellectually honest expression of atheism and can attest from personal experience to the accuracy of Solomon’s conclusion that everything is meaningless when viewed only from “under the sun”, whilst adding that there is nothing he has ever faced more fearsome than thoroughly embracing meaninglessness. John’s experimental discovery that he could not live without meaning was what led him to understand that there is more to the world than atoms, starting an eventful journey to the Creator.
John obtained a BE(Hons) in 1979 and for 25 years specialised in investigative and forensic engineering, which involves collecting and interpreting evidence to determine what has happened in the past and what caused a certain outcome, which has obvious relevance to interpreting evidence relating to origins. John discovered through that work the critical importance of training oneself in objectivity and of avoiding assumptions wherever possible, learned skills useful in engaging enquirers with regards to origins.
With over 40 years of engineering experience, John is a leader in his chosen specialty of crane engineering, however John will tell you that presenting creation talks to young high school students and providing them with tools to challenge the assumptions of evolutionary and old-age hypotheses is one of the highlights of his year.
