Within a theistic evolutionary framework, and many other ‘old earth’ views too, all members of Homo sapiens who were alive prior to the point when God made them like himself were soulless. Actually, there is irrefutable evidence that human ancestors of the genus Homo—allegedly soulless ones, according to advocates of theistic evolution—were spiritually aware beings, that they had a concept of an after-life.
